6 held for running porn racket in Joypurhat

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested six youths for allegedly running a porn racket in Khetlal upazila under Joypurhat district.

The arrestees are Mehedi Hasan, 26, Faruk Hossain, 28, Arman Hossain, 28, Sujan Haldar, 24, Eklashur Rahman, 21, and Shahinur Rahman, 27, of the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-5 team led by Lieutenant Commander Toukir raided Battali Bazar and arrested the six youths on Tuesday night.

Six CPUs, 10 hard disks, eight monitors, 16 cables and six mouse pieces were also seized during the drive.

After interrogation, the accused were handed over to the Khetlal police station. A case has been filed under the Pornography Control Act, sources said.
