Meherpur Jail guard held with yaba

A security guard of Meherpur jail in Khandakarpara of sadar upazila was detained with 65 yaba pills on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The arrested was identified as Abdul Alim Biswash, jail guard of Meherpur jail.

Officer-in-charge of Detective Branch Julfikar Ali said acting on a tip off they conducted a drive in the house of Alim in Khandakarpara area and arrested him with the contraband pills.

Earlier, Alim remained suspended for seven months for negligence in duty while he was posted at Narail, OC said.

Legal action will be taken against the accused, he added.
