A plea has been filed with a Dhaka court to file a case under the Digital Security Act against disgraced former state minister Murad Hassan for his objectionable remarks about Zaima Rahman, the granddaughter of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Leader of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a forum of BNP-leaning lawyers, Omar Faruq Faruqui, filed the plea with the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal on Sunday.

Though Murad Hassan was forced to resign from the cabinet, he still remains an MP of ruling Awami League from Jamalpur-4 constituency.

Omar Faruq Faruqui’s lawyer Masud Ahmed Talukder told Prothom Alo that the judge of the tribunal is on leave today. That’s why the hearing on the plea could be held tomorrow (Monday), he added.

The plea said Zaima Rahman, Khaleda Zia’s granddaughter and daughter of Tariq Rahman, works as a lawyer in London. Murad Hassan has made a false, fabricated and defamatory statement. That’s why the plea has been filed to file a case against him under the Digital Security Act.
