The husband of the 22-year-old victim said that he went to Cox's Bazar with his wife and their eight-month-old baby on Wednesday morning. He had an altercation with one of the accused after he accidentally bumped into the latter in the afternoon at Laboni point.

The young man later called his accomplices to the spot. They kidnapped the woman in an auto-rickshaw in the evening and raped her at a makeshift tea stall. Later the three miscreants took the woman to a resort and left her under lock and keys.

The victim said she opened the room’s door with help of another person and called national helpline 999. The authorities of the helpline asked her to file a general diary (GD) first. The victim later called RAB-15 and they rescued the woman from the resort.
