Tk 40m goes missing from Dhaka Bank’s Bangshal Branch vault

Two officials of Bangshal branch of Dhaka Bank handed over to police

Forty million (4 crore) taka has been missing from the vault of Bangshal branch of Dhaka Bank. The Bank’s officials came to know the matter on Thursday.

The Bank handed over two officials to police in connection with the incident on Thursday. The two are -- the branch’s cash in-charge Rifazul Haque and manager (operations) Emran Ahmed.

Dhaka Bank’s Bangshal branch manager Abu Bakar has declined to talk to media about the incident.

Speaking to Prothom Alo, Bangshal police station sub-inspector Masum Billah said, as no lawsuit has been lodged, Rifazul Haque and Emran Ahmed have been arrested and sent to court.
