DGHS decides to halt first dose of Moderna vaccine after 12 August

In a bid to ensure the second dose of Moderna vaccine, the government has decided to halt administering its first dose after 12 August, reports UNB.

The Department of Health Services has issued the notice after getting approval from the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

According to the notice, the administering of the first dose of Moderna vaccine will be suspended after 12 August across the country. The second doses will be sent to the vaccination centres soon, it said.

Besides, it also asked to start administering the second dose of Sinopharm from 14 August. The authorities concerned have been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.
