DU senate election: AL backed Blue panel registers landslide victory
The ruling Awami-League (AL) backed 'Blue Panel' has won the landslide victory in the election of teacher representative in Dhaka University (DU) senate, winning 32 of the total 35 posts.
The remaining three seats were bagged by BNP leaning 'White Panel' teachers, who will discharge the teacher representative duty for next three years.
The voting was held from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Tuesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on DU campus. DU treasurer Momtaz Uddin Ahmed announced the election result at around 4:30pm.
There was no other independent candidate and panels beyond the 'Blue and White' ones contested the election.
