Former state minister Anwarul Kabir dies of coronavirus
Former state minister of power, energy and mineral resources ministry major general (retd) M Anwarul Kabir Talukder has died from COVID-19.
He was 76.
The former lawmaker of Jamalpur-4 constituency breathed his last at a city hospital on Sunday afternoon, said his cousin physician Habibullah Talukder.
Anwarul, a nephew to former BNP secretary general Abdus Salam Talukder, was elected member of parliament from Jamalpur-4 (Sarishabari) constituency in 2001.
He worked as the state minister for finance and planning first and then for the power, energy and mineral resources.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter and three sons.
