Nasim’s JS seat declared vacant

Ruling Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim’s Sirajganj-1 parliamentary constituency has been declared vacant following his death.

The parliament secretariat issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.

The notification stated that the Sirajganj-1 constituency of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) fell vacant on 13 June following the death of member of parliament (MP) Mohammed Nasim.

Nasim breathed his last on 13 June while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the city’s Shyamoli at the age of 72.

He was elected MP for six times from the Sirajganj-1 constituency with AL tickets.
