Nearly 15m families get govt relief amid COVID-19 crisis: PID handout

About 15 million families have received the relief assistance from the government across the country amid the ongoing novel coronavirus crisis.

“The government so far has distributed 163,017 tonnes of rice which have benefitted 1,44,51,581 families throughout the country”, said an official release quoting the data provided by 64 district administrations.

The government so far allocated Tk 1.16 billion in cash. Out of that, Tk 763.7 million have been distributed among 3,85,90,443 individuals, it said.

The government has distributed baby food of Tk 20,29,76,408 among 13,56,198 people against the total allocation of Tk 239.4 million, the PID handout added.
