No policy to call govt officials 'sir' or 'madam': State minister

State minister for public administration Farhad Hossain has said there is no policy for people receiving government service to call the government officials 'sir' or 'madam'.

Farhad Hossain made the remarks at a dialogue organised by Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters’ Forum (BSRF) at the secretariat’s media centre on Tuesday.

The state minister stressed on good behaviour by the civil servants to the people receiving government services. Misbehaviour is also a form of corruption, he added.

Presided over by BSRF president Tapan Biswas, the event was also attended by acting principal information officer Shahenur Mian and moderated by BSRF general secretary Masudul Haque.
