Govt to bring back stranded Bangladeshis in US on 14 or 15 May

The government has taken an initiative to bring back the Bangladeshis, stranded in the United States amid the coronavirus pandemic, in a chartered flight either on 14 or 15 May, reports UNB.

Bangladesh ebassy in Washington DC in coordination with Bangladesh Consulates in New York and Los Angeles will facilitate their return by a Qatar Airways chartered flight, said a media release issued by the Bangladesh Consulate in New York.

The flight will depart either from Dulles International Airport or John F Kennedy International Airport for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Those who are interested to return home have been asked to complete online registration visiting http://galaxyaviationbd.com/airticket/ and buy the desired ticket as soon as possible as the flight has a limited number of seats.

The media release said the Bangladesh embassy in Washington DC is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the USA, Argentina, Belize, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guyana and Venezuela.

Earlier, the embassy urged Bangladeshi nationals to stay in touch through 24/7 cell phone (+1-202-740-6305) for necessary support if any of them is stranded in any of these countries.

Meanwhile, the government has arranged a chartered flight of Malindo Air to bring back Bangladesh citizens home from Malaysia. The special flight is likely to be operated on 13 May, according to Bangladesh high commission in Kuala Lumpur.
