Constable dies of kidney failure, not COVID-19: Police

Constable stationed at Madaripur police lines, Kishore Kumar Das, died of different ailments, including kidney failure, while undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital in the small hours of Thursday.

He was 27.

“Kishore died of different ailments including kidney failure, diabetes and breathing problems. He was tested negative for COVID-19,” deputy inspector general (DIG), Dhaka Range, Habibur Rahman told news agency BSS.

He urged all to refrain from spreading rumours over coronavirus as it has been noticed that some Facebook users are out to mislead people over the death of constable Kishore.

The DIG called upon the police personnel to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity to implement the ‘stay at home’ directives and health guidelines of the government in the wake of the outbreak of deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
