Lightning kills 2 in Kurigram
Two people were killed and another injured by lightning strike at Chilmari in Kurigram on Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, 30, Sonamiah. They were from from Karaibarishal area of Ashtamir Char union.
Abu Taleb Sarkar, chairman of Ashtamir Char Union, confirmed their death.
He said Jahangir, Sonamiah and Samad were cleaning the jute fibre, when they were struck by the lightning bolt after it started to rain at around 3:00pm.
Locals rushed them to Chilmari Hospital where on-duty physician declared Sonamia and Jahangir dead.
The injured Samad was sent to Kurigram Sadar Hospital, said local sources.
