Male ward of Meherpur General Hospital locked down

The male ward of Meherpur 250-bed General Hospital was put under lockdown after the death of coronavirus- infected patient there on Wednesday.

Hospital's resident medical officer (RMO) Mokhlesur Rahman announced the decision.

Civil surgeon Nasir Uddin said the hospital the activities at the male ward was suspended for disinfecting the hospital.

On Wednesday, Idris Shah, a resident of Voberpara village in Mujibnagar upazila, died at the male ward. Later, he was found positive for coronavirus in a test.

Meanwhile, seven more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Thursday, taking the death toll in the country to 127.

Besides, 414 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 4,186.
