Medicinal syrup kills two children in Brahmanbaria, sample to be collected

The Director General of Drug Administration (DGDA) on Saturday asked its division and district offices to collect samples of the medicinal syrup that thought to be responsible for the death of two children in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria.

The DGDA directed all its wings to analyse the syrup sample after collecting it from the retail and wholesale pharmacies and send the report to the national control laboratory, said a press release signed by DGDA director general Major General Mohammad Yusuf.

On 12 March, it was reported in the media that two children of a family of Durgapur at Asjuganj in Brahmanbaria died after having the syrup manufactured by a certain drug company.
