Student ‘raped’ by private tutor in Manikganj, woman held

A woman was detained on Wednesday after a girl was allegedly raped by her private tutor at Basta village of Singair upazila.

The detained woman, aged around 38, was resident of the district town.

On 9 June, Ruhul Amin Rubel, 32, of Basta village, who was the private tutor of the victim, took the girl to his aunt’s house where he confined her and violated her along with two of his accomplices, said inspector of Singair police station Md Abul Kalam.

The victim managed to call her family after three days and informed them about the matter. Later locals rescued her and rushed to a private clinic.

Victim’s father filed a case at Singair police station in this regard on Tuesday.
