Three die at KMCH isolation unit
Three COVID-19 suspects died under treatment at the isolation ward of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) in 12 hours until Tuesday morning.
Their swabs were taken for novel coronavirus infection tests, said focal person for KMCH’s isolation unit Shailendranath Biswas.
He said a 52-year-old man from Jhikargachha in Jashore got admitted at the hospital with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) symptoms on Monday afternoon and died around 10:30pm. A 36-year-old woman from Manirampur upazila of the district got admitted at surgery ward of the hospital with kidney diseases on the day. She died with breathing complications early Tuesday.
Shailendranath Biswas further said another 39-year-old man from Sheikhpara Baganbari of Khulna city died at the isolation ward around 9:45am on Tuesday. He was suffering from fever for the last three days.
With the latest deaths, as of Tuesday, 29 people died with coronavirus disease symptoms at Khulna Medical College Hospital. Of them, the physicians said, three died on the way to the hospital.
