Mayor Taposh tests positive for coronavirus

Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has tested positive for coronavirus.

The results of his coronavirus test at 4:30pm on Thursday were positive. This was confirmed by the DSCC public relations officer Md Abu Naser.

Speaking to Prothom Alo, Md Abu Naser said that the mayor's wife Afrin Taposh has been suffering from coronavirus from Sunday too. The mayor's bodyguard Sheikh Ashiquzzaman also has coronavirus. Earlier, the mayor's two sons had been diagnosed with the virus, but they have now tested negative.

Abu Naser said, the mayor and his children were supposed to fly to London tomorrow, Friday, and so took the tests. He had even come to the Nagar Bhaban in morning and is now remaining at home.
