Mayur-2 assistant master remanded over Buriganga launch capsize

A Dhaka court on Friday placed an assistant master of MV Mayur -2 on a three-day remand in a negligent death case filed over the drowning of ML Morning Bird on 29 June.

Dhaka senior judicial magistrate Mishkat Shukrana passed the order, remanding the accused Zakir Hossain in the case.

Police arrested Zakir on 23 July.

On the morning of 29 June, Mayur-2 rammed into the smaller size ML Morning Bird, drowning it instantly along with its 34 passengers.
