BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia--undergoing treatment in the capital’s Evercare hospital--now has fever after recovering from Covid-19.

The hospital’s medical board will hold a meeting to discuss the fresh bout of fever of the country’s former prime minister Khaleda Zia.

The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir informed the media about the development in a press conference on Friday at the chairperson’s office in capital’s Gulshan.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “She is fairly well now, but has been suffering from fever since yesterday (Thursday) night. The physicians are investigating the matter.”

He said, “She contracted fever all of a sudden. Today (Friday) the medical board will sit after conducting some tests on her ailment. Then the development will be available.”

Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with Covid-19 on 11 April. Later, she was admitted to Evercare hospital on 27 April and was moved to CCU on 3 May after suffering from breathing complications.

Since then a 10-member medical board, headed by cardiologist Shahabuddin Talukder of Evercare hospital, has been overseeing her physical condition.
