The autopsy of bodies of the nine people who were killed in police firing during Tuesday’s raid in capital’s Kalyanpur has revealed that they received most of the bullet wounds in their backs.

The autopsy of nine bodies was conducted at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital from 11:00am to 1:45pm Wednesday under the leadership of associate professor of college’s forensic department Sohel Mahmud.

“We’ve collected DNA sample of all nine people. We’ve also collected their hair, blood and viscera samples for tests,” said Sohel Mahmud.

Police said nine suspected militants were killed in exchange of gunfire with them when they raided a Kalyanpur house in the capital early Tuesday acting on a tip-off that militants were living there.

The police claimed that all of nine people are members of outlawed militant outfit Jama’at-ul Mujahideen, Bangladesh, notoriously known as JMB, although the photographs released by the police showed that the killed people were carrying flag of Middle-East based international terrorist organisation Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant aka ISIL aka ISIS aka IS.
