Kalyan to be interrogated at jail gate in journo accident case
A Dhaka court Wednesday permitted police to interrogate model, actor Kalyan Corraya accused of hitting daily Prothom Alo chief photo journalist Zia Islam with his car, reports BSS.
"Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Md Majharul Haque passed the order as police pleaded to place the accused on three-day remand," a court official said.
The court also rejected a bail plea submitted by Kalyan's counsel Mohammad Faruk. Prothom Alo security manager Sazzadul Kabir lodged the case against Kalyan on Tuesday.

Zia got critically injured in the incident, where a speedy car rammed his bike from behind in front of Basundhara City in the capital on 9 January. The car managed to flee the scene as the driver switched off all the lights of the vehicle quickly to hide its number plate.
Zia was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Apollo Hospital for better treatment.
