Teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions threatened tougher movement if their demand for nationalsation of non-govt educational institutions is not met, reports UNB.

Bangladesh Non-Government Teachers' and Employees' Forum came up with the threat at a press conference at the National Press Club on Friday morning.

The teachers' leaders said in the national budget of fiscal year (FY) 2018-2019 there is no specific allocation for nationalisation of non-government educational institutions.

Md Saidul Hasan Selim, president of the organisation said, on 29 January this year, the organisation called off their 20-day demonstrations and hunger strike programme following the government assurance of meeting their demand for nationalisation. But the government has not come up with any announcement to fulfil their demand as yet.

Saidul Hasan said that the members of the platform will observe one-hour work abstention between 23 July and 26 July if no announcement is made over nationalisation of non-government educational institutions immediately.

Saidul also said they will announce tougher agitation programme to realise their demand on 15 August.

Among others, general secretary of the organisation Md Abdul Khalek addressed the programme.
