Youth dies falling from Bashundhara shopping mall. Photo: UNBA young man was killed after falling reportedly from the level-8 of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the city's Panthapath area on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Sarjil Ahmed Onim, 22, a pharmacy salesman and son of Md Abdul Awal at Imambari of Keraniganj.

Quoting witnesses, police said security guards of the shopping complex first saw Onim lying on the ground floor in the morning and informed police, said Md Sento Miah, inspector (Investigation) of Tejgaon police station.

The shopping mall remains closed on every Tuesday. However, its Food Court and Star Cineplex on the level-8 remain open, he said.

Onim might have fallen from the level-8 between 11:00am and 11:30am but it is not clear how he fell, the police officer said.

On information, police took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him around 1:00 pm.
