Man detained with 6 gold bars at Dhaka airport

Customs officials arrested a man along with six gold bars, weighing 600 grams, from Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

The arrestee is Sourav Mina, reports UNB.

Customs intelligence and investigation directorate director general Shahidul Islam said Sourav landed at the airport from Chattogram by a flight of Regent Airways flight No-RX-787 from Thailand around 5:20pm.

On information, a team of customs intelligence officials detained him while he was crossing the domestic terminal.

After interrogation, the passenger informed that the gold bars were hidden in his rectum.

The gold bars were deposited with Dhaka customs house.

A case was filed in this connection, he added.
