Long tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway

Dhaka-Tangail highway experienced a tailback stretching along a 35-kilometre area from Gazipur's Chandra to Natiapara in Delduar upazila of Tangail from Friday evening to Saturday morning.  
The traffic movement was still slow while filling of the report at around 10:00am.
According to the police and some sufferers, a father and a son were killed in a microbus-truck collision in Goalbathan area of the highway in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Friday evening. The traffic movement was slow on the highway after the incident and a drizzle made it to the halt.
Moreover, a fish-laden truck went out of order on Sohagpur bridge in Mirzapur upazila on Saturday early morning made the traffic fully on halt.   
At one stage the tailback reached to 55-kilometers to Elenga of Tangail from Chandra in Gazipur.
Abdur Razzaque, a covered van driver stuck in the road said he had started for Joypurhat from Dhaka around 3:00am on Saturday. He crossed Mirzapur around 8:30am, after getting stuck in the tailback for almost three hours. He is not even sure that how long he will be stuck in the tailback.
Billal Hossain, helper of a Rangpur-bound bus from Baipail said they had started early in the morning and are in doubt whether they will be able to reach Rangpur in time or not.
Sub-inspector Mozammel Haque of Gorai highway police station said slow traffic movement as well as rain caused the tailback on the highway.      
Traffic sergeant Sajedul Islam of Mirzapur said the traffic movement is getting normal after the out of order truck was removed from the Shohagpur bridge.
