Rama Chowdhury no more
Rama Chowdhury, a writer and one of the 200,000 Biranganas of the liberation war, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early Monday, according to UNB.
She was 82.
Rama Chowdhrury who had been suffering from old age complications breathed her last around 4:00am, said her private assistant Alauddin Ahmed Khokon.
She had been suffering from illness since she sustained fracture in her waist after she fell down at her residence in Boalkhali upazila of the district on 24 December, 2017.
The writer had been undergoing treatment at the hospital's freedom fighters' cabin since 25 March last after vomiting blood.
Born at Popadia village in Boalkhali upazila in 1936, Rama Chowdhury fell a victim to perverted Pakistani military forces at her residence on 13 May, 1971 during the liberation war.
The freedom fighter wielded her pen and wrote 19 books, including novel, poetry, articles, alongside teaching in high schools.
