Rangpur road crash kills 2

At least two people were killed and five others injured when a truck hit a pickup van in Mithapukur's Jaigir Haat on Dhaka-Rangpur highway early Monday.

Of the deceased, one was a man and the other a woman, both hailing from Bogra's Sherpur. However, the identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

According to Boro Dargah highway police sub-inspector Hafizur Rahman, a Bogra-bound pickup van collided head on with a fertilizer-laden truck in Jaigir Haat, leaving two of the pickup van passengers killed on the spot and injured the other five.

The injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the SI added.
