UP member's son shot dead

A Union Parishad member's son was shot dead at Niamatpur village in Atghoria upazila on Sunday evening.

The deceased is Ilbaz Hossain, 45, son of Esem from the area.

Witness Abdul Matin of the village said a group of armed miscreants attacked Ilbaz at an open field near Niamatpur graveyard in the evening, firing multiple gunshots that left him dead on the spot. The killers soon fled the scene.

Officer-in-charge of Atghoria police station Anwar Hossain confirmed the incident. No name has been filed over the death.
