BNP ex-MP arrested in Mymensingh
BNP leader Shah Nurul Kabir has been arrested in a case filed under the Special Power Act, said police on Monday.
The former member of parliament (MP) from Mymensingh-8 constituency was picked up from his residence in Kakon Hadi area of Ishwarganj upazila around 3:30am early Monday, Ishwarganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ahmed Kabir told Prothom Alo.
According to police, Shah Nurul Kabir was shown arrested in a case filed under Special Power Act in February this year and he will be sent to court today, Monday.
Shah Nurul Kabir is the president of one faction of Ishwarganj upazila Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He was elected MP from Mymensingh-8 in 2001 but failed in 2008 election.
