Leaders of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) and National Democratic Party (NDP), two minor parties that left key opposition BNP-led 20-party alliance, will sit with Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) chief Badruddoza Chowdhury on Thursday afternoon.

"It will be a courtesy call. BDB joint general secretary has invited us. We may see Badruddoza Chowdhury there," said NAP chairman Jebel Rahman Gani.

The NAP and NDP leaders will visit B Chowdhury's Baridhara residence at 4:30pm, he added.

On 16 October, the parties made the announcement of breaking away from the 20-party alliance, three days after the BNP formally joined hands with Kamal Hossain-led unity process to float the Jatiya Oikya Front (National Unity Front).

NDP chairman Khondakar Golam Mortaza said he has been invited and will attend the meeting. "If they suggest forming a new alliance, we will think of it," he said.
