No gas in parts of capital, adjacent areas

The supply of gas in several areas of the capital and the adjacent areas has been shut down from Saturday morning as a a valve of the transmission line of the Gas Transmission Company Ltd (GTCL) in Ashulia area is being replaced, the Titas Gas authorities said.

The areas facing this gas shut-down in the capital city include Kalabagan, Mohammadpur, Shyamoli, Dhanmondi, Agargaon. Affected areas adjacent to the capital are Manikganj, Dhamrai, Aminbazar and Ashulia.

GTCL system department operation (north) deputy general manager Shafiqul Islam Khan confirmed this to Prothom Alo.

“The valve was damaged on Friday. It will take the full day today to replace the valve,” he said.

Shafiqul Islam Khan said the gas supply is likely to resume tomorrow.
