Jashore Jubo League man stabbed dead

A local leader of Jubo League was stabbed to death and his brother injured in an attack by their rivals at Charabari village in Chougaccha upazila of Jashore on Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Abdul Barik, 45, joint general secretary of No. 3 ward unit Jubo League, the youth organisation of the ruling Awami League.

Quoting brother of the victim, police said a group of youths swooped on Barik when he along with his brother Anisur was catching fish from a pond around 10:30am and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Barik and Anisur injured.

Later, the injured were taken to a local hospital where physicians declared Barik dead.
