Mymensingh City Corporation polls slated for 5 May

The maiden election to Mymensingh City Corporation will be held on 5 May, the election commission (EC) announced on Monday.

Electronic voting machines will be used in all 130 voting stations, EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said after a meeting at the EC Bhaban in the afternoon.

The last date for nomination submission is 8 April and they will be scrutinised on 10 April.

17 April is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.

The government upgraded Mymensingh municipality to the country's 12th city corporation in April last year.
