Education minister Dipu Moni is hopeful of bringing more non-government educational institutions under the purview of the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facility in the next one month, reports news agency UNB.
The minister said this to the newsmen at the secretariat on Wednesday.
"Hopefully within next one month we will be able to announce more educational institutions (School, college and madrasa) under the MPO coverage," she said.
The applications of the institutes have been accumulated in four categories and as per the information provided by them a total of 2,500 educational institutes have been listed for bringing under MPO after inspection.
"We will try to provide MPO facility to all the qualified institutions and encourage other institutions to enhance their quality of teaching because in next step we will try to bring other institutes under MPO," she added.
Under the scheme, the government gives 100 per cent basic salaries to the teachers of non-government schools.
