Youth beaten dead

A young man, who sustained injuries in an attack at Tokipur village in Poba upazila on 9 April over previous enmity, died at a hospital in the city early Monday.

The deceased is Babu, 30, son of late Shomser.

Nur-e-Alam Siddiqi, officer-in-charge of Airport police station, said one Lalon attacked Babu in the evening of 9 April over previous enmity and beat him up mercilessly, leaving him critically injured and fled the scene.

Following the complaint of the family members, police arrested Lalon.

The injured was first taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

As his condition was critical, he was shifted to intensive care unit of CDM Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:20am.
