College boy ‘commits suicide’ as parents scolded him

A college student reportedly committed suicide in a huff as his parents rebuked him over excessive use of mobile phones in Lon Office Para area of Jashore town early Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Miraz-uz-Zaman, 16, student of Jashore Government City College and son of homeopathy physician Kayed Uz Zaman.

Sub-inspector of Kotwali police station Khaledur Rahman said Miraz hanged himself with the ceiling fan of his room as his parents rebuked him over excessive use of mobile phone in late nights.

The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, and later with deputy commissioner's permission the body was handed over to the family without operating the autopsy, he added.
