Gas cylinder blast kills 4

Four members of a family were killed in a gas cylinder explosion at Islampur in Gazipur on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Shah Alam, 38, his wife Monira Begum, 30, and their son Bayezid, 8, and daughter Fatema, 4. The family from Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali had been living in a rented house at Islampur.

As Monira Begum began cooking, the the gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen around 9:30pm killing them on the spot, UNB quoted assistant director of Gazipur fire service, Akhtaruzzaman, saying.
