Elderly man missing after falling off ferry

A 70-year-old man went missing in the Padma river after he fell off a ferry on the Paturia-Daulatdia route in Manikganj on Sunday, reports UNB.

The victim is Md Amzad Hossain Gazi from Haruakandi village in Kashiani, Gopalganj.

Witnesses said Amzad was going to Dhaka with his son Rafiqul Islam and daughter-in-law. They involved in a quarrel while crossing the Padma.

At one stage, the elderly man slipped into the river around 11:00am, said Mizanur Rahman, Manikganj Fire Service deputy director.
