Jashore police receive ex-OC Moazzem’s arrest warrant

Police in Jashore received the arrest warrant issued against former officer-in-charge of Feni's Sonagazi police station Moazzem Hossain on Wednesday.

Additional superintendent of Jashore police (special branch) Ansar Uddin confirmed this saying the house of the former OC was under police surveillance.

Dhaka Cyber Tribunal issued the arrest warrant on 27 May in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

The former OC was accused of illegally interrogating Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan and recording the episode on his phone. The video was later circulated on the social media.

OC Moazzem comes from Dalmil Raipara of Chanchra area of Jashore. Two of his brothers and a sister along with their mother reside there.

Police added his family members’ movement were being monitored too.
