Nayan Bond was not made overnight: HC

UNB . Dhaka | Update:

.The High Court on Thursday said it does not like any extrajudicial killing in the country.

The HC bench of justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and justice KM Kamrul Kader came up with the remarks when the state counsel placed the progress report on Rifat Sharif killing case.

"Nayan Bond was not made overnight... someone had made him a criminal and nurtured him from behind the scene," the HC bench observed.

The HC bench also observed that these are not the matters of court as these are the matters of the administration.

Earlier in the day, deputy attorney general Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar placed the progress report of the Barguna DC and SP in connection with the Rifat murder case where he mentioned that a total of five accused in the murder case and four suspects have been arrested in this connection as of today (Thursday).

Besides, the report said, when police went to arrest an accused on 2 July his supporters opened fire on police, forcing them to fire back. Later, the body of Nayon Bond was recovered from the spot.

On 27 June, the High Court asked the government to issue red alert along the border so that the perpetrators of Rifat murder cannot leave the country.

It also asked deputy attorney general (DAG) ABM Abdullah AL Mahmud Bashar to inform the court about the progress on the case and fixed 4 July for the next hearing.

Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by miscreants in front of his wife in the district town of Barguna on 26 June. The entire incident was captured in a surveillance camera that went viral in social media.
