Robbery attempted at RUET branch of Rupali Bank

A gang of robbers attempted to commit robbery at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) branch of Rupali Bank in Rajshahi early Friday, leaving its security guard injured, reports UNB.

Soaibur Rahman, manager of the bank, told police that a group of masked robbers entered the bank around 12:00am and vandalised its close circuit cameras.

They also stabbed security guard Liton before entering the bank, leaving him injured.

Later, they tried to break open the vault of the bank but failed, said Golam Ruhul Kuddus, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
