Death-row HuJI leader Yahya dies in Dhaka jail

A leader of banned militant outfit 'Harkat-ul-Jihad Bangladesh' (Huji), who was sentenced to death, died at Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Dhaka on Saturday evening, reports news agency UNB.

The deceased is as Hafez Yahya, son of late Maulana Abdur Rashid of Parbatpur village in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet.

Jail super M Shajahan of the prison said Yahya collapsed on the ground around 6:00pm.

He was taken to the jail hospital where physicians declared him dead, he said.

Yahya was sentenced to death in a number of cases, including the 21 August grenade attack one.
