Man killed by elephant in Rangamati

A wild elephant trampled a youth to death at Jubolaxmipur in Longdu upazila of Rangamati on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased is Md Sharif Hossain, 25, son of Ekdin Mia of the area.

Gulshahkhali union parishad chairman Abu Nasir said the elephant attacked Sharif while he was returning home after Fazr prayers, leaving him critically injured. 

Local people took him to Longdu Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, he said.
