''Top criminal' Zeesan to face trial after extradition'

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday said listed top criminal Zeesan Ahmed who was arrested in Dubai will be put on trial after bringing him back home, reports UNB.

He made the remarks while talking to reporters after visiting a Durga Puja mandap at Loknath Temple of Swamibagh in the city.

The minister said Zeesan is wanted in at least 11 cases, including of murder, and the process to bring him back has begun. "We hope that he'll be brought back home soon," he added.

Zeesan was arrested in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates by local police on Wednesday last.

Asaduzzaman said not only top terror Zeesan, but also all the offenders -- be in the country or abroad - must face trial and no one will be spared.

He said the people of the all religions have been celebrating their respective religious festivals in the country peacefully and smoothly for the last 10 years as law enforcement agencies remain vigilant.

The minister warned that if anyone tries to give communal instigation, it will not be tolerated. "Stern action will be taken against them," he added.
