2 killed as bus collides with CNG-run auto-rickshaw

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Kalipur of Banskhali upazila in Chattogram on Monday.

The deceased is Tomas Mondol, 42, and Ziaul Haque, 45.

Ziaul Haque is the son of Abdur Rashid of Puichhori number 11 union of Banskhali.

Tomas Mondol, a coordinator of an NGO, was going to Chattogram city by the auto-rickshaw.

The accident occurred at Palegram of Kalipur union of the upazila in the morning when the bus and the auto-rickshaw collided head-on.

Tomas Mondol died on the spot and Ziaul Haque died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Zahirul Islam, In-charge of CMCH police outpost, informed that four individuals injured in the collision were brought to CMCH where Ziaul Haque died at 11 am.

"Besides, we came to know that one person (Tomas Mondol) died on the spot," he added.
