Jubo League leader killed in RAB ‘gunfight’

A local leader of Jubo League was killed in what law enforcers called a gunfight with them in Chattogram's Agrabad on Sunday night, reports UNB.

Jubo League is the youth front of ruling Awami League.

According to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the leader was Khurshid Alam, 45, vice-president of Jubo League’s Pathanthuli Ward unit.

RAB claimed that he was accused in eight cases filed with various police stations in Chattogram.

Assistant superintendent of police Md Mashkur Rahman of RAB-7 said there had been a gunfight between a RAB patrol team and a group of armed criminals around 9:00pm on Sunday.

Later, Khurshid’s body was recovered from the spot, he added.

Three firearms and 12 bullets were also recovered from the site.
