Road transport and bridges minister Obidul Quader on Thursday expressed satisfaction over the swift announcement of verdict in Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case, reports UNB.

“I express satisfaction over the verdict,” he said while talking to reporters at his secretariat office in the capital.

A tribunal in Feni sentenced 16 people to death for their roles in killing Nusrat. Now the subordinate court will send the death reference copy to the High Court for approval.

Nusrat was set on fire on 6 April on the roof of a madrasa she attended, allegedly by people loyal to principal Siraj Ud Daula whom she had accused of sexually harassing her.

She succumbed to her injuries four days later at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
