Roksana confesses her part to killing housemaid

Housewife Roksana Parvin has confessed to her involvement in the death of her 12-year old domestic help Jannati.

Mohammadpur police station’s investigation officer Abdul Alim said Roksana gave the confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Friday.

Bangladesh Water Development Board’s executive engineer Sayeed Ahmed, Roksana’s husband, and other accused of the case, have been on the run.

Jannati’s father Janu Mollah filed the case with Mohammadpur police station accusing the couple.

Jannati, who had been working in the house of Sayeed Ahmed on Sir Syed Road of Mohammadpur for four years, had multiple injury marks on her body.

A police officer Tejgaon zone said that Jannati had been lying unconscious for two hours at the kitchen after beating.

The physicians of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital said she was taken to hospital dead, he added Roksana’s confession.

Police suspect that Roksana hid information in her confession and did not give any information of her husband’s involvement in the incident.

Earlier the hospital morgue authorities said that Jannati’s body had marks of injury made with a blunt object.

She might have been raped before the murder, the hospital morgue staff suspect.
